I have lived in Thunder Bay my entire life. Despite my passion for travelling and seeing the world, I will always love and appreciate life in Thunder Bay. I do not believe that there is anywhere else in Canada where I can experience success in both business and politics like I have in this city. After graduating from Lakehead University with a degree in Political Science I began my career at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). It was there I was able to get hands on experience in a professional work environment. I picked up skill in everything from minute taking, organizing meetings and events, participating in union activities, to working as a team to create medical professionals for our community.
While my time at NOSM was a memorable one, I heard the call that most entrepreneurs can identify with. I had a feeling that there was something more out there for me to do. I imagined my world as a place where I had autonomy to create and inspire others. I opened Unveiled Bridal Boutique in Fall of 2012 and have grown it into a successful business that employs 4 people and has realized increasing growth year over year. Growing up in the East End of Thunder Bay I always envisioned being a part of the social change of the South Core. I made a conscious effort to invest my time, money, and business in to the South Core. As a result I opened up my business in one of Thunder Bay's most socially and economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
It was shortly after I opened my business that I decided I still wanted to do more for my community. After a few discussions with my family and friends, I decided to put my name in to represent my home ward of Northwood, on Thunder Bay City Council. I won my seat in October 2014 and have been a dedicated advocate for improved infrastructure, increased and accessible communications, and resourceful tax spending. I look forward to continuing this work and representing the citizens of Northwood.
I am also a supporter of Thunder Bay's Arts and Culture scene and was successful in having a play I wrote for Thunder Bay's 10 x 10 Showcase chosen to be performed.

I manage four amazing staff members, create all of the social media and traditional media content for marketing strategies, procure new suppliers and samples, order stock, merchandise, work the point of sale, train employees, and clean the shop. It's the life of an entrepreneur.
Medical Education Coordinator
Northern Ontario School of Medicine
2006 - 2012
I created course applications for physicians to participate in their medical continuing education programming. These applications were not only necessary to the physicians to maintain their credentials but also for the medical school to maintain its accreditation status. It was at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine where I gained skills such as minute taking, event planning and office organization.
